Although we designed SpotCam cloud system with users' privacy and internet security in mind, we fully understand some of you still prefer to turn off SpotCam when you get home. Reasons may vary, maybe you want to save internet bandwidth or you are just not comfortable with having a camera watching at you for any reasons. Well, we've trying to make your experience with SpotCam more pleasant as much as possible, so here is how to automate the task to turn on/off SpotCam when you are back and leaving your house everyday.

Thanks to IFTTT integration we've done recently, now with the service of IFTTT and access to your mobile phone's location service, SpotCam can turn on itself when you are away and turn off itself when you are back home. After you enable IFTTT service for your SpotCam, you can then visit below links for the two Recipes that will automate turning on/off tasks for you:

iOS Users
Recipe - Turn on your SpotCam automatically when you leave your house
Recipe - Turn off your SpotCam automatically when you are back home

Android Users
Recipe - Turn on your SpotCam automatically when you leave your house
Recipe - Turn off your SpotCam automatically when you are back home

Since IFTTT requires your phone's location to make these two Recipes work, you are required to install IFTTT app on your phone and enable above two Recipes. When you add above recipes to your IFTTT account, you will be able to select the area where your house is in, also select which of your SpotCam to be turned on/off, and then you are all set.

There are practically no configurations or baffling settings whatsoever to make the task difficult, you can easily make this work in a few minutes and let SpotCam turn it on/off automatically in the future, enjoy!
