One SpotCam can only be registered by one account at a time, so if your SpotCam was registered earlier and not yet deactivated, then you can NOT register the SpotCam again with another account, and you will see warning message when you try to set up the registered SpotCam.

If you purchased a used SpotCam from someone else, most likely you will face above situation. You can try to contact the last owner of your camera and acquire the registered SpotCam account and password information, then log in with that SpotCam account to set up your SpotCam and put it online. Once it is online, you can then deactivate the camera when it is online so the camera will be reset, and you can then set up the camera again with your new SpotCam account.

If it is not possible to acquire the previously registered SpotCam account and password, then please follow this instruction to directly reset your SpotCam locally, then you will be able to register again with your new account as well.

As inconvenient as it may seem to be, we feel it is necessary to protect the ownership of the camera so even when a thief or intruder take away your SpotCam, all your video recording would still be stored on the cloud safe and sound and only you can access to them.
